Potemkin

Appearances: Guilty Gear Series

This massive lumbering giant started off his fighting career as a slave-warrior for the Zepp government who were the leaders of a floating continent. Potemkin was forced to enter the first tournament by the Zepp military dictator but it was during this tournament that the harsh government was overthrown by Potemkin's friend and mentor. From that day forward Potemkin swore his allegiance to the Zepp government and would for fight for his motherlands honor in the Guilty Gear Tournament.

When compared to the other fighters in the game who are all very fast moving and much smaller, Potemkin, or as I affectionately dubbed him ‘temkin, is a slow moving powerhouse. He’s the kind of character that people new to the series can choose and then systematically beat the living hell out of a more seasoned Guilty Gear gamer. Just one punch from his massive, vein-popping arm can drain nearly half of the opponents life bar. However his possibly steroid enhanced muscles can often be his downfall if a fast moving character is able to dodge his attacks and land a few combos on him. He is easily taken down, and once on his back the shear weight of his armor and body is enough to collapse a lung or two.

I like to use ‘temkin after John has beat me in match after infuriating match to knock that damn false sense of superiority smile off his face and knock him back down a few pegs. There’s nothing worse than playing another gamer who beats you all the time and likes to rub it in, unless that gamer is me... then it’s pretty damn sweet.
